Two Parts was thrilled to be tapped by Denver nonprofit organization, Biennial of the Americas, to play a part in the inaugural historic event, Cities Summit of the Americas. Cities Summit of the Americas brought together 2,500 subnational leaders to participate in more than 65 sessions and 40 supporting events throughout the city that supported the summit’s theme, “Global Challenges, Local Solutions”. The Two Parts team was brought on to plan, manage, and execute both experiential and creative responsibilities throughout the robust week of programming. The project scope was divided into two parts (wink) – the plenary sessions and pop-up cultural warehouse, where we invited to public in to participate, adding 5,000 more friends to the party.

THE PLENARY SESSIONS:

On behalf of our clients at The State Department, Two Parts led the charge for all digital communication and onsite registration for Cities Summit of the Americas. Our digital responsibilities spanned creative, email, web, and content management. These included writing and translating twice-weekly campaigns to attendees, updating the evolving plenary agenda, and coordinating content for the event’s many webpages and blog posts.

Two Parts also managed the Cities Summit registration process ahead of the plenary sessions and onsite at Downtown Denver’s Colorado Convention Center. In the weeks leading up, our team devised a comprehensive and integrated approach to registration, from sign-up to credentialing. We worked hard to streamline data from online registration, segmented corresponding email lists, and designed tiered credentials and underlays for different summit access points. With the help of our hardworking staff and contractors, we checked in over 2,500 people, 200 of those people being mayors from high profile cities across the Americas.

Fábrica de Arte Américas:

As part of the Cities Summit, Biennial of the Americas dreamed of creating a cultural hub that would showcase the diversity of art and culture from across the Americas. Two Parts was then introduced to the talented tastemakers of Fábrica de Arte Cubano (hailing from Havana!) to help our team curate a pop-up warehouse in the heart of Denver that was home to a vendor marketplace, art installations, live musical performances, fashion shows, and so much more.

Our experiential team hit the ground running to coordinate, manage, and produce onsite programming at the 4-day stretch of pop-up cultural warehouse, Fábrica de Arte Américas. We worked closely with Downtown Denver’s The Slate Hotel to transform the old Emily Griffith Opportunity Schools into a bustling multi-faceted urban warehouse inspired by cultures across the Americas. We recruited Denver vendors spanning fabricators, sound technicians, beverage brands, food vendors, and more, to create a cultural hub in the Mile High City. Two Parts directed everything from live musical performances from ÀVUÀ, Pahua, and more, art exhibitions and interactive installations, a Caravana marketplace to shop from, food trucks, fashion shows from renowned designers: Clandestina and Celia Ledon, pop-up bars with cocktails for sale, amongst many other onsite activations that surprised and delighted event goers.

Not only was Two Parts in charge of the onsite presence, our creative team helped to brand the warehouse and created a visual identity that was displayed throughout our signage system and digital applications. We worked with local media partners and influencers to secure paid placements for the warehouse and ran social media ads broadcasting the can’t-miss weekly programming. Additionally, Two Parts hired and art-directed photographers and videographers to capture the energy of the cultural warehouse.

Both parts of Cities Summit of the Americas were success stories. Two Parts helped the Biennial of the Americas plan and execute a successful pop-up that reached new audiences and raised awareness of their mission. The results of the pop-up were significant and left a lasting impression on Cities Summit attendees and Denverites alike.

The weeklong event gave warehouse attendees the opportunity to engage with cultural experiences and activities from across the Americas, all in one place. Our team is grateful to have played a part in Cities Summit of the Americas as it was a catalyst of local change and cultural exposure across the Americas, right in our backyard.
